The acoustics and elegance of the wooden decorations make it one of the most prestigious theaters in Europe, which recall theater and dance companies, including international ones. Every year it offers a billboard with lyrical operas, ballets and prose of excellent level, to which we advise you to take part, not only to give you an evening of charm and culture, but also to carefully observe the decorations of the very special gala curtain, painted by the Salerno artist Domenico Morelli: A 122 square meter canvas, recently restored, represents and celebrates one of the most important historical moments in the history of the city: the expulsion of the Saracens from Salerno, a victory obtained by the army of the Lombard King Guaiferio, ancestor of the beautiful princess Sichelgaita, who will certainly have grown up listening to his deeds sung by court jesters, who continued to narrate and sing about him for centuries, so much so that the story of courage and the admirable victory over the terrible Arab invaders has reached us.[\/vc_column_text]
